Terms of Service

1. What Hobihop and HobiPlay are

Hobihop is an educational family travel platform that helps families learn about and plan travel to destinations around the world. HobiPlay is our family discovery game, where children build an Explorer profile, fill a travel passport, collect items in a wallet, earn badges, and make discoveries as they explore destinations and experiences.

HobiPlay is an educational, entertainment-only game. It is not a gambling product and does not involve wagering, staking, or games of chance for monetary prizes. HobiPlay contains no loot boxes and no pay-to-win mechanics. The Service does not currently run advertising or offer in-app purchases.

2. Eligibility and accounts

• The Service is intended to be used by a parent or guardian who creates and holds the Hobihop account, with a child using a linked Explorer profile within HobiPlay under that account.
• Hobihop.com offers Google sign-in and Facebook sign-in for account access. community.hobihop.com, our separate community forum for parents and travelers, also uses Facebook sign-in.
• You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential and for activity that occurs under your account.
• Explorer nicknames should be a first name or made-up name only. Please do not enter a child's full name, school, or other identifying information.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose.
• Attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorized access to the Service or its underlying systems.
• Impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation with one.
• Post or transmit unlawful, harmful, or infringing content through any part of the Service that allows user contributions, such as community.hobihop.com.

4. Educational purpose; no professional advice

Destination facts, cultural information, and travel-related content within the Service are provided for educational and entertainment purposes. This content is not professional travel, safety, medical, or financial advice and should not be relied upon as such.

5. Leaving Hobihop

The Service may link to external websites, such as third-party sources referenced on a destination or experience page. We do not control and are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of external sites. A brief notice will let you know when a link is about to take you off the Service.

6. Intellectual property

The Service, including its design, text, graphics, avatars, game mechanics, and underlying software, is owned by Hobihop or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from the Service without our prior written permission, except as necessary for your own personal, non-commercial use of the Service as intended.

7. Third-party services

The Service relies on third-party providers to operate, including hosting, authentication, and analytics providers, as described in our Privacy Policy. Availability of the Service may depend on the availability of these providers.

8. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Hobihop and its officers, directors, and employees will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Service. Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time if we believe you have violated these Terms. You may stop using the Service and request account deletion at any time by contacting admin@hobihop.com.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Effective Date" above reflects the most recent update. Continued use of the Service after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein.
